Pink Meets Red, White & Blue: Komen OC To March in HB Fourth of July Parade

Komen survivors and supporters marching in the 2010 Fourth of July Parade

Komen walked in the Huntington Beach Fourth of July Parade for the first time last year and was overwhelmed by the warm reception of the crowd in support of the breast cancer survivors. The crowd clapped and voiced their encouragement so enthusiastically that some of the survivors were brought to tears of joy.

For the 2011 parade, Komen will once again be marching with a team of survivors, family, supporters and advocates dressed in pink alongside the Komen Pink Golf Cart driven by our very own executive director, Lisa Wolter.  You won’t miss our pretty in pink group amongst the sea of red, white and blue. Komen volunteers will be on site to distribute information to anyone up who is eager to pre-register for the 20th annual Susan G. Komen Orange County Race for the Cure, to be held Sunday, Sept. 25 at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.

To participate in the parade, please RSVP to Cindy B, at cbrenneman@komenoc.org. Once you have committed we will give you detailed instructions and a map on where the parade starts and ends.

For more Race details please visit www.komenoc.org/race or call (714) 957-9157.
