Fundraising for a Cure

The 20th anniversary wristband

In honor of its landmark year, Komen OC is encouraging participants to partake in the “Celebration Donation” by making a donation of $20 or more to celebrate the 20th Annual Race for the Cure. When supporters pledge a “Celebration Donation” at the time of registration, they will receive a limited edition commemorative 20th Annual Race for the Cure wristband.

With a 2011 goal of $3.1 million, Race participants are also encouraged to take the 125 challenge – a call-to-action for each person to raise at least $125, the average cost of a life-saving mammogram.

Calling all teams! You can sign up now at www.komenoc.org/race.

Volunteers needed for Sept. 25 Race for the Cure!

Komen OC volunteers at the 2010 Race help distribute roses for the breast cancer survivor tribute, a touching memorial to those who we have lost and a celebration of those who have overcome the disease.

Calling all Komen supporters, breast health advocates and breast cancer survivors! If you are looking for a great way to give back to your community, consider volunteering with Komen Orange County and be a part of our 20th Annual Race for the Cure on Sunday, Sept. 25.

We are always looking for volunteers with a wide variety of interests – opportunities include everything from manning our Race Registration Suite to crowd control, volunteer check-in, T-shirt distribution and more!

If you are interested in volunteering, visit our Race Volunteer page to view all opportunities and sign up. We hope to see you there!

A Pink Parade

Komen survivors were not hard to miss in this year’s Huntington Beach fourth of July parade. The team of survivors, family and supporters were dressed in pink while the Komen pink golf cart led the way. Our Komen volunteers helped spread the word to register for the 20th annual Susan G. Komen Orange County Race for the Cure, on Sunday, Sept. 25 at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
